Fishing tackle is the tool that helps the lure or bait that you are using to go deep and reach the fish. There are few basic as well as advance fishing tackles. But it is always advisable to start with the basic ones. You need to first master the skill of handling basic tools and then handling the advance will not be a problem.

The Basic Fishing Tackle

The simplest form of a fishing tackle use to be a fishing line attached with a pole. To make it more simpler, kids usually wrap a fishing line in a soda can and make that their tackle. In most of the common cases a fishing-pole is made of cane, bamboo or any branch of a tree. With such a kind of pole you can fish near the banks of a river. You can attach small sinkers like split shot to go down in the water. And you can also use bobbers to float on the water with your tackle. As a fishing tackle is a collective name of rods and reels that an angler uses so according to their usage these tackles are broadly come under four categories: spin-cast, spinning, bait-cast, and fly. You need to remember that you need to use different kind of rod for each style. Lets discuss these styles in brief.

Spin-casting

Spin-casting is the perfect type of fishing tackle for a beginner. This kind of rod comes with small line guides and a straight handles. With a spin-casting fishing tackle you can catch bluegill, Crappie and other pan-fish. You need to mount the spin-casting Reel on top of the rod’s handle to get best results. There must have a hole on the front of the Reel from where the fishing line will be coming out. Using such a kind of tackle is not a big deal and it is easy to learn the usage as well. You need to do a lot of practice though to be master the game. An aspiring angler should practice until he/she perfects himself or herself in the tactics and can aim in the target from a distance as well.

Spinning

Spinning rods and reels are included in fishing tackle. These rods have a straight handle which is attached with large line guides. In such kind of fishing rod the guides are on the bottom. In addition to the rod, you can also find a spinning reel which is often called an “open-face” Reel. These reels are called so as they have got uncovered spool. A spinning reel is placed under the handle. Anglers love such reels and rods because these can give space to more line. The line can be peeled off quickly using these tools and these also allow casting longer distance casting as well.

Bait-casting

Bait-casting is also a popular form of Reel, an alluring fishing tackle. This Reel can have pistol type grip or can also be straight as well. The casting Reel is placed on top of the rod and unlike any other Reel the spool of the Reel turns automatically when you cast the line. To control the spool is quite a task and for that reason bait-casting is a bit hard to learn. In bait-casting Reel there is a tool which is known as drag which works to control the line. It helps you to grab a big fish.

Fly Fishing

Fly fishing tackle is such a kind of rod and Reel where anglers need to attach a fly in the line. In a fly fishing tackle the Reel is only used to store the line, but not to handle the weight, bait or lure. Casting a fly fishing tackle is the hardest job, but practice is the answer to that. If you are fishing in the saltwater then you need some extra equipment. Usually a saltwater fly fishing tackle can be of stainless steel or nickel chrome.
